What we collect

This website sets no cookies of its own. We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count visits and to record sessions so we can see where the site is hard to use. For every visit it keeps an approximate location — country, region, city, postal code and approximate map coordinates — worked out from your IP address; the address itself is not stored. Every form field is masked, and so is what you see inside your account; it stores nothing on your device. Once you sign in, PostHog knows you by an internal id, never your email, and also records when you sign up, run a preview, start or cancel Monitor, or download a report. When you create an account we collect your email address. When you start Monitor we also collect your company name, your website, the category you sell into, the competitor websites we find for you or you name and the questions you write or edit, plus the time of the request and, if you started from a check result, a copy of that check's campaign label. We use that to run your audit, to bill you and to answer you. Running a free check before you have an account collects no email and no account of any kind: it stores the website you asked about, the page title we read from it, the category and the three answers, plus any campaign labels already on the link you used — kept for 30 days and reachable by its own private link, which our analytics provider also records.

What we do with it

We use your email to send your report and to answer your questions. If you subscribe to Monitor we also store the prompts, engine answers and reports produced for you. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone other than the processors we need to run the service (our email provider, our payment processor, our product analytics provider (PostHog, EU), and the AI engines we query on your behalf). Questions you write are sent to OpenAI, Perplexity, Google and SerpAPI to be answered.

How long we keep it

Reports and correspondence — including a copy of the campaign label your audit was created from, if you started one from a check result — are kept for as long as you have an account. Closing your account does not delete them on its own, and we do not delete them on a timer. Ask us and we will delete them.

Your choices

Email hello@heardof.io to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days.
